Civil War in Cynthiana

HarriCyn Junior History Club had a great monthly meeting this past Saturday. Club members were treated to a talk on local Civil War History by historian and author Bill Penn. He shared specifics about the two major Civil War battles that occurred in Cynthiana. Larry Benson shared some special Civil War-era artifacts on display at the museum that belonged to his great-grandfather. Before leaving, club members were given some information about provisions, cooking, and the history of “fried apple pie” during Civil War times. They all went home with a taste of that sweet treat.
